Sacramento County Public Health’s FY 2024–25 Annual Report highlights a major milestone—earning national accreditation in November 2024—demonstrating its commitment to quality, equity-centered service delivery, and preparedness. Despite facing significant funding cuts that challenged immunization efforts, nutrition programs, and pandemic-era infrastructure, SCPH successfully engaged in strategic planning, strengthened partnerships, and continued championing essential public health, maternal-child, and disease surveillance initiatives across the county.

Public Health Nurses (PHNs) work to improve the health and well-being of Sacramento County residents that are medically underserved. PHNs will conduct home visits to provide education about illness, disease prevention, safe health practices, and how to obtain health care services and other resources.
