County Medically Indigent Services Program


​​​​County Medically Indigent Services Program (CMISP) is a health care program for adults with very low income who cannot get other health coverage. It is the last option for people who are not eligible for other health care programs. Services include medically necessary primary care, pharmacy, specialty, emergency, hospital, and ancillary services. Some services require authorization.

Eligibility for the program is determined by the Department of Human Assistance (also known as the County Eligibility Office) and primary care and pharmacy services are provided at the Sacramento County Health Center.

Eligibility

  • 19 - 64 years of age
  • Very low income (138% of the Federal Poverty Level)
  • Does not have other health insurance coverage
  • Sacramento County resident
  • U.S. citizenship or meets federal immigration status requirements
  • Has a medical need as determined by a local hospital or County healthcare provider​


How to​ Apply

  • ​Potentially eligible individuals may request evaluation for CMISP by contacting the Sacramento County Health Center.
  • Applications are reviewed for Medi-Cal eligibility first.
  • CMISP is a last resort program. If you qualify, you may have a share of cost.
