EMR Reinstatement


​​​​Instructions for EMR Reinstatement - For a Lapse of 12 Months or More

  1. Apply online at https://actonline.saccounty.net.  Online application instructionsDO NOT create a new account if you have previously created one to do an application.​ If you have difficulties logging in, please call our office or the Sacramento County Help Desk (916) 874-5555 for assistance. 

  2. To be reinstated as an EMR by Sacramento County, the applicant must complete and upload the following:

  3. Valid EMR course completion record (dated within the last 12 months).

  4. Government issued photo identification (Driver's License, Passport, Military ID).

  5. Current CPR for the Health Care Provider card or the equivalent.

  6. Upload a​ “passport-style" color photo of yourself. 

  7. Supplemental Certification Application (if prior convictions) and all documents that pertain to prior conviction(s).

  8. Have your employment verified by your chosen employer (an email will be sent to your employer to which they need to respond in order to verify your current employment).​

  9. Pay the required fees.

  • Once the above has been submitted, please allow 1-2 weeks for your application to be processed. 
  • If you need assistance with your application, please bring all documentation to our office during counter hours and we will assist you. Location and hours information is available on the SCEMSA Homepage

Cost for EMT Renewal/Reinstatement

  • $25.00 SCEMSA application fee (non-refundable)

  • $30.00 Late fee (within 30 days of expiration)

  • $30.00 Expedited Processing fee (if requested)
