Provide evidence of a current Registered Nurse license.
Government issued photo identification (i.e. Driver's license, Passport or Military ID).
Copy (front and back) of a valid American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card or equivalent.
Copy (front and back) of a valid American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital (PEPP) card or equivalent.
Provide evidence of successful completion of an MICN course in Sacramento County or a California LEMSA. If a course is attended outside of Sacramento County, the MICN shall attend the Sacramento County EMS Agency Policy/Protocol Review class.
Documentation of completion of an Advanced Life Support (ALS emergency response vehicle observation experience consisting of direct observation of at least 8 hours, which must include at least 2 patient contacts where a patient is assessed. If 2 patient contacts are not completed, 2 ALS scenarios will be conducted by the paramedic within the 8 hour observation period. The ALS emergency response vehicle observation experience shall be completed with a ground-based SCEMSA designated ALS provider operating within the 9-1-1 response system. **If a candidate has a valid MICN certification from another county, provide proof of completion of an Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency response vehicle observation experience consisting of direct observation for at least 4 hours, which must include at least 2 patient contacts in which a patient is assessed. If 2 patient contacts are not complete, 2 ALS scenarios will be conducted by the paramedic within the 4 hour observation period. The ALS emergency response vehicle observation shall be completed with a ground-based SCEMSA designated ALS provider operating within the 9-1-1 response system.
