SCEMSA Paramedic Orientation

SCEMSA Paramedic Orientation is the first Friday of every month unless it falls on a holiday, in which case it falls on the following Friday. Your application must be submitted and processed NO LATER than the Thursday before orientation by 12:00 pm (noon).

To become accredited to work as a Paramedic in Sacramento County, you must be affiliated with an Advanced Life Support provider, and follow all instructions  HERE on the Initial Paramedic Accreditation page. In order to be placed in the Mandatory Paramedic Orientation Class, you must apply, upload ALL Required documents, pay the fee, and receive a confirmation email from SCEMSA from the act@saccounty.net email account.

Participants will gain knowledge of SCEMSA-specific Protocols, Policies, EMS System Structure, and Continuous/Initial Accreditation and be provided the opportunity to ask any questions.

It is the responsibility of all Paramedics to have an understanding of SCEMSA Policies and Protocols prior to attending the orientation class and throughout their EMS careers.  At the end of the class, there will be a closed-book exam, and you must score 80% or higher to pass.

Four (4) hours of continuing education will be issued upon successful completion of the class.
