The Pregnancy Resource & Referral Line is a toll-free telephone number that community members can call to be connected with information and services for a variety of health-related topics such as Medi-Cal, AIM, Healthy Families, immunization services, WIC, breastfeeding advice, and more. The line [1-888-824-BABY or, locally, (916) 875-BABY] is answered during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) by staff of Sacramento County's Public Health Nursing Field Services. During business hours, public health nurses are available to answer specific health-related questions from callers. After business hours, the Pregnancy Referral Line is answered by an automated telephone "tree" that guides the caller through various options for getting the information they need. Personal contact with public health nursing staff is not available to after hours callers.
