Do you live in a home built before 1978? Many homes built before 1978 contain lead-based paint which can be particularly hazardous to children under 6 years of age. As the paint peels, chips and breaks down, lead in the paint gets into the environment and can be breathed in or swallowed.
Are you low-income and looking for assistance with removing lead-based paint from your home to keep your children healthy and safe? The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency has a Lead Hazard Reduction Program funded by the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).
The SHRA Lead Hazard Reduction Program can provide free assistance to low-income families living in pre-1978 homes with lead-based paint. The program is offering free lead risk assessment testing, free clearance testing, and can provide up to $10,000 per unit for lead remediation to those who qualify:
