Communicable Disease Control


​​​​​​The goal of the Communicable Disease Control Unit is to control and prevent the spread of diseases in the community. This is done through investigating cases or suspect cases of a reportable disease (per Title 17 Reportable Diseases and Conditions) or other conditions of public health concern, following up on exposed contacts, coordinating laboratory testing, educating the community, providing technical guidance on prevention and control measures, and assisting in outbreak investigations among others duties.
