Youth Suicide Reporting and Crisis Response Pilot Program

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please call/ text 988 to speak with a mental health professional.

Description

Mental Health is something that everyone in Sacramento County has a role in. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health or thoughts of suicide, there are resources to help, and there is always hope. The Sacramento County Youth Suicide Reporting and Crisis Response Pilot Program aims to plan, develop, build upon, and/or test ways to make it easier to seek mental health care and decrease suicide rates in youth who are 25 & under. To do this, we are attempting to collect data in the Sacramento area faster and more accurately, increasing and streamlining care if a suicide attempt happens, and educating on how everyone has a role in suicide prevention.

This program is a collaborative effort between Sacramento County Public Health and Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services that is comprised of Epidemiology, Health Education, and various Behavioral Health teams.

The Sacramento County Youth Suicide Reporting and Crisis Response Pilot Program is currently funded by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Office of Suicide Prevention (OSP). Funding is allocated through June 2025.
