The Electronic Health Record (EHR) team provides support, training and billing support for electronic health record program, SmartCare. This EHR is used by Sacramento County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) and BHS Contract providers for both Mental Health (MH) and Substance Use Prevention and Treatment (SUPT).

CalMHSA ran a script on 6/15/2026, which updated the flyout menu to direct CalMHSA RX properly. Anyone who previously had a Quicklink set for the RX module will be unable to reach CalMHSA RX and will need to set up a new Quicklink. Instructions on how to create a new Quicklink to properly reach the CalMHSA RX module, can be found here.
As of June 12, 2026, CalMHSA updated the display names of the SUD assessment-related procedure codes in SmartCare to better align with the DMC-ODS Service Table as shown below. This is a display name only change- rates, documentation requirements, authorized users and historical data are not affected.
If you are a Provider using your own EHR, The SmartCare Procedure ID has also been included to assist with updating your system with the new display names.
