National Children's Dental Health Month
February is National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) a time to highlight the importance of good oral health and healthy habits for children.
This year, we’re excited to share a variety of resources designed to support oral health education and community engagement. From educational materials and activity ideas to outreach tools and ways to get involved, you’ll find everything you need to help families build healthy smiles. Together, we can raise awareness, encourage prevention, and inspire lifelong oral health for children in our communities.
Every child deserves a bright, healthy smile—let National Children's Dental Health Month inspire habits that protect smiles for life.

Why is dental health important?
A healthy mouth, teeth and gums are essential to good overall health! Teeth are meant to last a lifetime. They help us chew food, speak clearly and smile. Healthy mouth habits prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. Keep your mouth healthy by brushing your teeth with fluoride toothpaste twice a day, flossing daily, eating a healthy diet and limiting added sugars, visiting the dentist regularly, and avoiding tobacco use.
